Istanbul 9/16 - Walk to the harbor

Istanbul 9/16 - Street Cats

I was surprised by the number of stray cats I saw throughout the city.  A local told me it keeps the rat population down.  Makes sense I guess since I never saw one while I was there.

I was really sad for this one.  If you look close enough (though I wouldn't recommend it) you can see that he is well, not well.

Istanbul 9/15 - Mannequin central

Wandering the streets, we ended up in a shopping district area selling mostly mannequins. Here's a few that caught my eye...

Istanbul 9/15 - Home of the "Original Imitations"

Here's a sample of some of the things you'll find in the Grand Bazaar...

This nice fella insisted that the stuff he was selling wasn't fake, but that they were "original imitations"

DC, Etnies, Fox...  Nice hang tag.

This one's my favorite, Addilbas - Yes, a deal bust that is!

Puma. Speechless. No wonder why Glen left.

Istanbul, Turkey 9/14

Following a 3 1/2 hour flight from Copenhagen, we arrived in Istanbul, Turkey at about 5:30 am. Istanbul is the only metropolitan city in the world situated among two continents. We stayed on the European side. Here are some pictures that I took that evening from the hotel balcony overlooking the Marmara Sea. In the distance is the Asian side of Istanbul.
